Good Morning Families,
Here we are at the beginning of week 3 of home schooling, and I am missing you all very much! I recorded a video of myself for you to view on Flipgrid. The students have directions on google classroom of how to join, as well as rules and expectations of making their own videos to respond to mine. We normally complete a "Feel Good Friday" question each week in school, therefore I started a "Marvelous Monday" question they could respond to by video instead! How fun! The fourth grade learning ideas have been updated on the above button as well as being sent in an email to all parents, and a copy has been posted to all students on google classroom.

Good Morning Families,
I am thinking of you all on a daily basis and hoping we are all getting outside on a regular basis to get some fresh air. I am trying to take a yoga class on the computer each morning in my living room, and then take my dog Riggs for a very long walk! It makes me feel ready for the day ahead!
I enjoyed seeing many of you on our google video hangout yesterday and hearing about what is going on in all your homes!
The button above has been updated for Week 2 online learning ideas.

Hello Families,
We are in a time of uncertainty right now, and I am positive we will all get through this together. We will be back to our normal classroom once again before we know it. I think of how I am continually impressed with the genuinely kind, hard-working, helpful and collaborative students we have in our classroom. I am truly privileged to teach such an amazing group of kids! Please enjoy spending time with your families during this time.
I have added two online learning links above to help students continue to remain engaged.

We had a wonderful week finishing our celebration of Black History Month in our classroom! We read stories about Duke Ellington, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., Katherine Johnson, Jackie Robinson, and Henry's Freedom Box. These were just a few of the inspiring stories, and students continued to see a common theme, "For real change you need to lead by example."
We also worked extremely hard in Math learning all about adding, and subtracting fractions. As well as what a mixed number is, an improper fraction, and how to add them together! Tomorrow we are welcoming two new students to our classroom, Aven and Brennen! Wednesday, March 4th is a half day.

We will celebrate Valentine's Day in our classroom on Thursday, February 13th @ 1:00. Please contact the room parents if you have any questions. A list of all student's name has gone home already, and I will send a second one home tomorrow. We will have our Unit 11 assessment tomorrow. Students were given a review packet for homework. This unit covered factors, prime and composite numbers, multiples, equivalent fractions, as well as comparing and ordering fractions. Ask your children about it!

Library update: 4th grade will be visiting the library on Monday mornings to check in and out books from 8:10 -8:25. Students will still go to library media special at the regular scheduled time on Tuesdays, but will not be checking out books at that time.
We have no school this coming Monday, January 20th. Enjoy the long weekend!
January 2nd, 2020
Happy New Year! We started off the day in a community circle, discussing things we might want to improve on or change about ourselves. Students also completed a writing prompt titled, "My wish for the world in 2020." Ask your child about it!
We continued our work with division today and will be studying this topic for the next few weeks. Any multiplication or division work that can be done at home is always beneficial.
The next MCBA book is titled "The Great Treehouse War" by Lisa Graff. The breakfast will be on February 14th in our classroom!
